2010 KVMA Fall Conference

The KVMA's fourth annual KVMA Fall Conference will be on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, in Manhattan. And it’s free to KVMA members. This very special event will be staged at the KSU College of Veterinary Medicine and will offer new and exciting programs that are a first for the Conference, which has grown in popularity each year it has been held.

Again it’s free to KVMA members. It is a terrific chance to garner CE on a number of current hot topics. The focus will be on wet labs and “practice tip” sessions, with detailed and thorough presentations and discussions in an intimate setting.

A very timely and compelling opening general session, “Animal Welfare, Animal Rights, and the Role of the Veterinary Profession” will be presented by Emily Patterson-Kane, Ph.D., animal welfare scientist for the American Veterinary Medical Association. KSU College of Veterinary Medicine faculty, students, and Kansas practitioners will lead and assist in facilitating these excellent continuing education offerings. Topics will include equine medicine, beef quality assurance, small animal surgery and FX case management, bull BSE, hip dyspla case management, and radiography and imaging. Due to the generous support of KVMA industry friends and conference speakers, and members’ increased travel costs, KVMA leadership has decided not to charge a fee for members for this Conference. It is crucial that you register, however, for meal and activity counts. It’s going to be a fantastic program packed tight with education, fun, and fellowship with friends, students, and faculty. Rooms have been blocked at the Clarion Inn, Hampton Inn and Fairfield Inn in Manhattan for the nights of Oct. 15 and Oct. 16. Just mention the KVMA to obtain the special rates.
